Week 13 Early Screening Results

Well we have our results back from the early Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18 screening that we had done during week 13. After a finger prick and some sonograms we learned that our baby has a 1 in 10,000 chance of having Trisomy 18 and he/she is in the low risk category for Down Syndrome. So far so good! Our next appointment will be on January 14th and we're sooo anxious since it's when we can find out the sex of our little person : ) They're also going to do a Quad Screening for neurotube defects, Down Syndrome again, and overall health of the baby. Please post suggestions for boy names! We can't agree on any names and are ready to take suggestions seriously!

New Ultrasound Pictures @ 13 weeks and 4 days

The famous fetal position, plus it's a great shot of the little spine!













Side view of baby kicking mommy already, and those are its tiny toes. The pictures look kinda weird and blurry here but when they're moving around the ultrasound machine you see thousands of these pictures and they look amazing!









Another side profile showing the baby's knees and part of the baby's spine again. His/her heart rate is now a perfect 153bpm which is a lot slower than the 170bpm at 8weeks 3days!










Here is an overhead view looking directly down. The two black lobes are the developing brain and you can almost see the face :)











This is a side view of the same shot from above. This shows more of the facial, neck and chest bone structure. The white dot is our baby punching mommy!

Exactly 3 months today!

Yay!!!! We made it through our first trimester. One down..Two more to go! Nate made me take this picture even though I was exhausted when it was taken : / Enjoy..

12 week check- up

We went to the doctor on November 26th for another check- up and we were able to hear the babies heart beat which is at 156 beats per minute. It was pretty exciting! We leave for California on December 16th and we will be back January 7th, so our next appointment will be on January 14th when we get to find out the baby's anatomy through another ultra-sound. We're very happy and can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. We have picked out a girl's name, Lauren Mackenzie Mills, But as for a boy's name we have no idea...Any suggestions?
