Week 19 Check Up Results

Last Wednesday was our 19 week gender confirmation ultrasound, doctor consultation and Quad screening blood test. Everything went perfectly! Lauren is 1000% a little girl and completely healthy. She does not have Downs Syndrome, Trisomy-18, nuerotube defects, or any kind of physical abnormalities like a cleft pallet etc. The ultrasound showed that she was almost a week bigger than expected and now weighs about as much as a can of coke : ) Her head has developed perfectly and she has almost full body motion. She was sucking her thumb, crossing her legs, rolling around and opening her mouth as wide as she can! Even the nurse was surprised and laughing because she had never seen a baby "try so hard to talk to us". Our next appointment is February 6th (which will be Laurens last check-up in the United States) and by the end of next week we will post new 5 month pictures of Jill's tummy!!

And on a more personal note yesterday, 20 weeks 3 days, was the first time I felt my little girl move! This was one of the best moments of my life, I feel like a Dad now.

Oh I mean it!!! How fun is all this Nate & Jill. Lauren is perfect...just like her mommy and daddy. (and grandparents) This blog site is a wonderful idea. It's sooo nice to see every step of the way - especially when we can't be there! Love you, Mom
